Arkhangelsk (On the banks of the Northern Dvina River)
Founded in 1932, NSMU is a prominent government institution and the only medical university in the European North of Russia. It is particularly popular among Indian students for its long-standing history of English-medium education and strong clinical focus in the Arkhangelsk region.
NSMU offers intensive clinical training through partnerships with major regional hospitals and its own 55 specialized departments. The university uses modern medical mannequins and high-tech simulation equipment for hands-on diagnostics.
The university has 4 main hostels located near campus. Rooms are shared (2-4 students) with central heating and Wi-Fi. Arkhangelsk has a cold subarctic climate (-12°C to -18°C winters), for which the campus is fully equipped.
With over 1,400 international students, there is a vibrant global community. Dedicated Indian mess facilities are available, providing both vegetarian and non-vegetarian Indian meals to help students adjust.
